A farming family finds love and adventure in Des Moines, Iowa, during 1946 with Moravian Academy’s production of “State Fair” which ran from Feb. 28 through March 1 in Dyer Auditorium.
While parents Abel and Melissa Frake seek to win blue ribbons, their children Margy and Wayne look for romance on the midway.
With book by Tom Briggs and Louis Mattioli, and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and music by Richard Rodgers, the musical is based on Rodgers and Hammerstein’s 1945 film version of Phil Stong’s novel “State Fair.”
Director Jarrod Yuskauskas was assisted by choreographer Deena Linn, music director Yvonne Robinson, technical director Rob Riker and orchestra conductor Richard Fanning.
