SALISBURY: ‘Into the Woods’

Salisbury High School takes a walk “Into the Woods” with fairy-tale characters from the Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault as they journey into the dark and unpredictable forest in pursuit of their wishes. Show times are 7 p.m. March 12, 13, 14 and 3 p.m. March 15, auditorium, Salisbury High School, 500 E. Montgomery St., Salisbury Township.

“Into the Woods,” with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine, has characters from “Cinderella,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “Rapunzel” and fairy tales.

Salisbury “Into the Woods” Director Will Windsor Erwin is assisted by associate director John Leiderman, music director Amanda Pascale, choreographer Lynn Wiener, technical director Chris West, lighting designer Scott Ross and production assistant Cherie Pennella.

Musical numbers include “Giants in the Sky,” “Children Will Listen,” “Agony,” “On the Steps of the Palace” and “Into the Woods.”

The 1988 Broadway production received three Tony Awards. The 2002 Broadway revival scored two Tony Awards.
