Deitsch Eck Restaurant donates to Kempton Lions

Chef and owner of the Deitsch Eck Restaurant Steve Stetzler recently presented the Kempton Lions Club with a $630 donation.

The check, given to the Lions Club at its Feb. 19 meeting, was generated by the restaurant’s “Plate It Forward” campaign.

According to Stetzler, when a customer orders any Pa. Dutch special throughout the month at the Lenhartsville eatery, $1 from each special is designated for that month’s chosen charitable organization.

The Kempton Lions Club supports many charitable projects throughout the year, including loaning medical equipment, supporting local families in need, support for more than 16 local nonprofit organizations, annual distribution of holiday baskets, clean up at the Lenhartsville interchange and scholarships to Kutztown students.

“It is wonderful that Deitsch Eck builds such generous and extensive community support into their business,” Doug Yingling, club president said. “We were honored to be chosen as the beneficiary for January and this gift will enable us to further our charitable impact in Kempton and beyond.”
