Library, police at Roma building
Parkland Community Library Board of Directors President Barry G. Cohen has announced the library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, is closed due to safety concerns associated with the township campus construction project
“The safety of our patrons is of the utmost concern,” Cohen stated on the library’s website.
“Our closing, while sudden, was and is necessary.
“While our physical location is currently off limits to the community, library staff is working behind the scenes to make our collection available and to prepare a temporary space for library services.”
The library has temporary space in the Roma Corporate Center, 1605 N. Cedar Crest Blvd. and is preparing to reopen there in early spring.
“In the meantime, we would like to remind everyone that the library is a proud member of the Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative and materials can be accessed at any of the other participating libraries,” Cohen stated.
He also noted the library will waive all fines for currently checked out and overdue items during the transition.

In addition to the library, South Whitehall police are now located at the Roma building, in Suite 410.
