District News: Pancake breakfast planned for Feb. 22
Come out for an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast 8-10 a.m. Feb. 22 at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar, 2109 Motel Drive, Bethlehem. Tickets include pancakes, sausage and a beverage.
Tickets are available in advance and at the door. Tickets purchased in advance must be presented at the door for entry.
The event benefits the Northampton Area School District band program.

Throughout February, the Community Task Force group will be holding a book drive at all schools in the NASD. Books must be new or in excellent condition.
A collection box is at each school.

The Northampton Area High School 2020 yearbook is currently on sale for $75 until March 1. After this date, the price will increase.
If you need an order form, students can stop by the main office or you can order online at sscyearbooks.com.

Read Across America Day is March 2. Throughout NASD, there will be various activities to celebrate the event in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
All across the nation, the importance of reading will be celebrated at schools, along with encouraging family reading. Be sure to listen for any upcoming special activities to join in the fun!

Mark your calendar for Moore Elementary’s spring picture day March 6.
All students will have their pictures taken, but purchase is optional.

Sign-ups for spring sports are taking place now in the NAHS athletic office. Students can sign up for baseball, softball, boys and girls lacrosse, boys tennis, boys and girls track and field and boys volleyball.
When you sign up, pick up an athlete letter and a packet of forms for your physical. If you played a fall and/or winter sport, you do not need another physical, but you still need to fill out section seven, recertification, code of conduct and risk of injury, which must be returned to the athletic office.

Camp Invention is coming back to NASD. Check out the link on the school district website to watch the video and view the flier to learn about this summer’s program.
To celebrate NASD’s fifth year of Camp Invention, the first 40 students to register will be placed into a drawing. The winner of the drawing will get the 2020 camp cost reimbursed.

Northampton Area Konkrete Kids Educational Foundation is continuing its Buy a Brick fundraiser. Support the foundation by having your name engraved on a brick paver that will be placed within the plaza outside the entrance of Al Erdosy Stadium and the district swimming pool, adjacent to the back of the NAHS parking lot.
Included in this area are the bus loop and memorial plaza. This area is the center of the secondary campus outside the stadium and is open to the public.
