Feb. 22

Lower Macungie Library hosts “A Toast to the ‘20s” 7:30–9:30 p.m. Appetizers, desserts and wine coupled with the sounds of the Red Hot Ramblers from Philadelphia will make for an enjoyable evening. Travel back to the 1920s as the library is transformed into a Speakeasy. No need to knock on the door or know the password to enter. There is a charge; all proceeds benefit the library. Purchase a ticket by Feb. 20 at www.lowermaclib.org and click “donate now” or stop in the library at 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie. Dress in the 1920s style or in smart casual. Upper Milford Historical Society meeting 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township Building, Old Zionsville. Mike Fegley will share his extensive bottle collection and talk about the history bottles reveal. Refreshments will be provided; all are welcome. For more information, call 610-966-4851.

March 1

26th annual spring sportsmen’s flea market 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Alburtis Area Community Center, 220 W. Second St., Alburtis. New and used fishing, hunting and trapping equipment will be featured as well as collectibles and antiques. There is a donation for admission; children under 12 are admitted at no charge. March 3

The Emmaus Garden Club will meet, noon, at Faith Presbyterian Church, 3002 N. Second St., Emmaus. The program will be “Bonsai Trees, Bonsai Starters, Bonsai Tools & Supplies” by Scott White, owner of Bucks County Bonsai. White’s talk will be light on history and strong on techniques, potting, wiring and more. He will talk about different species and cultivars and their attributes toward bonsai. And he will bring bonsai, bonsai pots, tools and soil for his discussion. Bonsai and pots will be for sale. Guests are always welcome. For more information, call 610-395-0903.

Spring bazaar at Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Crafts, attic treasures, a gift basket auction, bake sale and food will be available.

Free shredder event 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Quakertown Farmers Market, 201 Station Road, Quakertown. Richter Mobile Shredding will be in the north lot, near the Garden Center ready to shred personal documents. Papers should be boxed or bagged and the limit is two large bags or boxes per person.
