STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Q. Who are the members of your family: parents, siblings and pets?
A. My family consists of my mother Maria, my father Leo, my brother Evan and my ball python Skathi (named after a moon of Saturn).
Q. What do you most enjoy about being a senior at Emmaus High School?
A. I most enjoy the transition into adulthood and certain responsibilities I have had to take on with that transition.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. My favorite subject is science because the more you learn, the less you actually know, and the more curious you become.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I have received first place with my group in the regional history day competition during ninth and 10th grades, I attended the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association All-State Choir festival and ranked ninth in the state my sophomore year and in my senior year I ranked first for the PMEA District 10 Choir festival.
Q. What are your favorite extracurricular activities?
A. I participate in four different singing groups throughout the school year and those are all very important to me. I am also very involved in the theater department at EHS.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. I hope to attend one of my top colleges chosen and major in biology on a pre-medical track.
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. My biggest challenge has always been constantly balancing academics, my many extracurriculars, family and work.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. I would like to be remembered for spreading genuine kindness and optimism. Positivity spreads just as easily as negativity; someone just has to put it into the world.
Q. Whom do you admire? Why?
A. I admire my parents for being so hardworking and simultaneously giving me all of their love and effort. All that love has helped me to become the person I am today.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. My advice is to try in life to be the better person. Don’t let someone else’s problems and negativity pierce your life and try to make your own happiness by bringing happiness to others. Kindness goes so much further than hate.
