Spring sign-ups are taking place now in the Catasauqua High School athletic office for boys baseball and track and field.

Also, sign-ups are still taking place for girls softball.

Catasauqua High School Drama Club is excited to present “Crazy for You,” the Gershwin musical comedy with a book by famed comedic playwright Ken Ludwig. And that’s what it is: a musical comedy with songs by George and Ira Gershwin that makes everything old seem young again, with the audience included.

A zany rich-boy-meets-hometown-girl romantic comedy, the story tells of a young New York banker, Bobby Child, who is sent to Deadrock, Nev., to foreclose on a rundown theater. In Deadrock, Bobby falls for spunky Polly Baker, the theater owner’s daughter. Polly takes an instant dislike to the city slicker, so Bobby vows, through cunning, razzmatazz and a hilarious case of mistaken identity, to win Polly’s heart and save the theater.

With a fast-paced and lighthearted script by Ludwig and a collection of the most beloved tunes of George and Ira Gershwin, including the day-dreamy “Can’t Be Bothered Now,” the catchy, high-energy “Slap That Bass” and the plaintive, romantic “Someone to Watch Over Me,” “Crazy for You” is a truly delightful homage to the beloved, optimistic musicals of the 1930s.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. March 19, 20 and 21 and 2 p.m. March 22.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students/seniors/children. Everyone, regardless of age, requires a ticket to attend a performance. All ticket sales are final, and no refunds or exchanges will be permitted. All seats are reserved, and seats are assigned on best available seating.
