At the Service to Youth program, held Feb. 5 at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, Northampton Exchange Club honored four Northampton Area High School seniors - Cassandra Borzillo, Jonathan O’Rourke, Rose Sharga and Alex Tews - as Students of the Month for January and February.
The honorees were presented with the Lamp of Knowledge and plaques.
Dr. Rodger Berg, program chairman, heralded the honorees for their leadership and service to the community. He said the students’ parents should also be recognized for their work in having their sons and daughters achieve great success.
Borzillo, January Girl of the Month, is part of National Honor Society, Distributive Education Clubs of America, Student Council, Spanish Club, Drama Club, orchestra, chorus, the spring musical and field hockey.
O’Rourke, January Boy of the Month, is part of National Honor Society, Science Olympiad, Biology Club, Math Club, Tech Team, Virtual Build, select ensemble and county chorus and is a peer tutor.
Sharga, February Girl of the Month, is part of National Honor Society, Biology Club, Innovative Leadership Club, Spanish Club and Volunteer Club and is a special education aide.
Tews, February Boy of the Month, is part of National Honor Society, DECA, Ski and Snowboard Club, Odyssey of the Mind and mock trial.
