Northampton Community College
“Flora and Fauna” art exhibit
“Flora and Fauna,” featuring works by Richard Begbie (photography), James A. DePietro (oil/acrylic painting), and Maryann Riker (mixed media/collage), is currently on exhibit through March 5.
Flora and Fauna refers to the Western art history classification for plant and animal life, with the exclusion of the human species.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday (closed Sunday) in the Communications Hall Gallery, Northampton Community College main campus.
New colleges partnerships
During a digital signing and news conference recently, 14 Pennsylvania community college presidents announced a new partnership and articulation agreement with Southern New Hampshire University.
Under the agreement, students from all 14 Pennsylvania community colleges will be able to transfer up to 90 credits to SNHU and complete their bachelor’s degree on line with a 10 per cent tuition reduction.

“womenXwomen” exhibit
PS-LV galleries will host a “womenXwomen” exhibit featuring select works from the Petrucci Family Foundation Collection of African-American Art through March 14. Diabetes class begins March 1
“Dining with Diabetes” will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on March 4, 11, 18 and April 1 and 8, with a follow-up class on June 3, at the Lehigh County Agricultural Center, 4184 Dorney Park Road.
The nationally accredited diabetes education program is for individuals with type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes, has a family member with type 2 diabetes, or is at risk for developing diabetes, who want to learn how to better manage diabetes.

Faculty and staff hires
Penn State Lehigh Valley has announced that 10 local individuals have been added to the school’s faculty and staff. The new hires and their positions are Jonathan Desiderio, police officer; Cindy Evans, education program associate; Janel Hanna, business development assistant for Lehigh Valley LaunchBox; Douglas R. Hochstetler, director of academic affairs; Pam Kiser, development associate and stewardship coordinator; Greg Mackenzie, facilities manager; Mark Milliron, lecturer of health policy and administration; Sharon Scheirer, lecturer of health policy and administration; Edward P. Sigamani, lecturer of information sciences and technology; and Sharon Tercha, director of strategic communications.
