STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. Who are the members of your family: parents, siblings and pets?

A. I live with my dad Joe, my mom Karine, my brothers Shepard and Cooper and my dog Kizzy.

Q. What do you most enjoy about being a senior at Emmaus High School?

A. I’ve really enjoyed the freedom and time I’ve had with classmates throughout senior year so far. There have been many opportunities to get involved in and connect with everyone I’ve grown up with.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. I’ve always found history to be the subject that’s intrigued me the most. I like learning about the past in order to lead more effectively in the future. Wars and previous conflicts have particularly sparked my interest because I can see the success and failure of different strategies.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I’ve been recognized as a student of the month for the health, wellness and fitness department and have received Principal’s Honor Roll. I’m a member of National Honor Society. I received First-Team All-Conference honors in baseball and was named three time Offensive MVP for the Emmaus baseball team.

Q. What are your favorite extracurricular activities?

A. My favorite activities would have to be sports. Of all sports, baseball is my passion. I have played on several travel teams and play on the Emmaus baseball team. When I have free time, it’s usually spent being active or spending time with my friends and family. I enjoy working for a landscaping company where I’ve learned to work hard through various aspects of ground maintenance and design.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. Upon graduating, I will be attending the University of Pennsylvania where I will be playing baseball. I hope to quickly become a contributor and leader on the team. My major is currently undecided, but I’m confident that Penn’s broad range of degrees will open up new opportunities for me to be successful in life and leadership.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. Making my college decision was the biggest challenge so far. Figuring out where I wanted to spend four years of my life was difficult, but exciting. I knew I wanted to play Division I baseball while also receiving a great education. There were ups and downs, but working through it with my parents and asking for help from coaches and friends, I was able to make my decision confidently.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I want to be remembered as a hard working, humble and respectful person in my community who left a positive impact wherever I went.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my grandmother the most. She’s the most caring, generous and funny person I know and I’ve yet to see her complain or get angry. She’s never hesitated to go out of her way to care for others. I hope to one day be like her.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Be a person of character and someone who isn’t quick to judge because you don’t know what someone else is going through. Be a leader in your own way and be willing to get a little outside of your comfort zone in order to fully experience everything around you.
