Time for “Rent”: The 20th anniversary production of “Rent” has two performances, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Feb. 9, State Theatre for the Arts, Easton. “For the past 20 years, ‘Rent’ has touched the lives of audiences around the world from Broadway to regional productions to high school auditoriums,” says Producer Stephen Gabriel. “Rent,” a reimagining of Puccini’s “La Bohème,” premiered off-Broadway in 1996 and transferred to Broadway, winning the 1996 Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, one of only five musicals to win both awards.
