Sheckler News: 100th day of school is Feb. 6

Feb. 6 marks the 100th day of school for Sheckler Elementary School students.

The Scholastic book fair will be held for students Feb. 11-20. They will have the opportunity to preview or make purchases.

The book fair will also be held in Sheckler Elementary’s cafe for families to come and shop together 6-7:30 p.m. Feb. 20 during the Read Across America/TV Turnoff Week, which will be taking place the week of Feb. 16-22.

Students will celebrate Valentine’s Day with parties in their classrooms Feb. 13.

Beginning Feb. 16, Sheckler will be participating in TV Turnoff Week, which will conclude Feb. 22.

During this time, students are encouraged to participate and not watch any television or play any video games during this time.

Instead, students are encouraged to take part in other activities.

Students may play educational games on computers, iPads or other types of tablets.

All students who participate in this event will have a special picture taken with their grade level, which will be in the yearbook for 2020.

Kindergarten registration for the 2020-21 school year will be taking place April 2 and 3.

Registration is by appointment only and can be scheduled by calling the Sheckler office at 610-264-5601.

All information, along with needed paperwork, can be found on the school’s website. The forms are to be printed out and completed prior to your scheduled appointment in April.
