There is still time for any Catasauqua High School junior or senior winter sports athlete to sign up to participate in the guest reader day at Sheckler Elementary School Feb. 20.

Any athlete interested in reading to a classroom at Sheckler Elementary should sign up in the CHS athletic office.

Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students are eligible for a host of college scholarships and grants varying in value from hundreds to thousands of dollars offered by a variety of local, state and national businesses and organizations as well as individuals from the Lehigh Valley or Pennsylvania that support career and technical education.

Many of the scholarships are awarded based on merit and need. In some cases, the scholarships target students who plan to pursue careers in specific fields. Others are contest-based scholarships.

LCTI also plays a role in administering seven additional scholarships that are available to students.

Presidents Day, also known as Washington’s Birthday, is Feb. 17.

Schools in the Catasauqua Area School District as well as LCTI will be closed Feb. 14 and 17 for this federal holiday.

Schools will reopen Feb. 18.
