The Neffs National Bank recently donated 10 boxes and three bicycles to the Toys for Tots, Allentown.

The collection campaign ran Nov. 4, 2019, through Dec. 6, 2019, in the bank’s lobby during regular business hours.

Items collected included stuffed animals, dolls, monster trucks, toy cars, board games and books.

Donations were received as a collective effort by the bank.

“We have been doing this for the past six years and the support by the community has been overwhelming and we can’t thank them enough,” Bank President and CEO Kevin Schmidt said. “We have been told that we are one of the largest collection sites in the Lehigh Valley and we look forward to assisting in this event each year.”

The Neffs National Bank will have other community events coming up in the new year, and these events will be listed on the bank’s website at neffsnatl.com.

When retrieving the donations on Dec. 9, 2019, Toys for Tots volunteer Marty reflected on the reasons why he has been collecting for more than 30 years.

“When your family is opening presents on Christmas Day, remember that a child somewhere in the Lehigh Valley is opening up a toy on Christmas because of your donation at Neffs Bank,” Marty said.

All donations and funds donated in the Lehigh Valley stay in the Lehigh Valley.

According to the Toys for Tots, Allentown, website, 85,183 toys were distributed in 2018 and more than 30,000 children were supported in the community’s efforts.
