STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. Who are the members of your family?

A. My family includes my mom, Melissa, my dad, Ryan, my brother, Andrew and my sister, Sarah. I have two dogs and three cats.

Q. What do you enjoy most about being a senior?

A. I enjoy having senior privileges, including a parking pass and early outs.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is advanced placement computer science principles because I enjoy coding and the unlimited possibilities of computer software.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have been a recipient of the Academic Excellence Award, the Leadership in Science Award for Chemistry and an Honorable Mention on the National Spanish Exam. I am a member of both National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society and I have achieved the Principal’s Honor Roll every marking period in high school. I have also served as a Hornet Ambassador.

Q. What are your favorite extracurricular activities?

A. I enjoy running, and have been a part of the cross country and track and field teams. I earned varsity letters in both sports and received the Most Improved Runner Award for the boys cross country team my junior year. I also enjoy playing Emmaus Legion baseball.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I have received early acceptance into The Pennsylvania State University, College of Engineering, University Park Campus. I will begin my education there this fall.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. Definitely, my biggest challenge has been running cross country. The mental toughness, physical fitness and stamina and strategy needed in order to be successful in this sport require a great deal of commitment, effort and coaching.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as someone who always puts forth my best efforts.

Q. Who do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my mom because she has always pushed me to be my best and to try my hardest even when I didn’t want to, in school, sports, and life. She has helped me to set goals and to develop the work ethic I need to achieve them.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Don’t take the easy road because the work you’re putting in now will help shape your future.
