In honor of Read Across America, Sheckler Elementary School will be participating in a readathon throughout February. Calendars are being sent home with students to record the number of minutes read per day. Students are encouraged to read or be read to at least 15 minutes each day - but you can always read more than 15 minutes!

All types of reading count, such as books, magazines, comics and e-books. At the end of the month, parents/guardians are asked to add up the minutes their child read during February and return the signed calendar to school by March 2.

The classroom that reads the most minutes in each grade level will receive an ice cream party. A student must have participated in the readathon to be included in receiving the treat.

Each grade level will have a special picture taken of all the students who participated in the event. This photo will be included in the Sheckler Elementary 2019-20 yearbook.
