Northampton Area Food Bank is planning a Super Bowl purse and gift card bingo Feb. 2 in the gymnasium of Good Shepherd Catholic School, 1300 Newport Ave. Doors open noon. Bingo starts 2 p.m.

Prizes will be purses and gift cards from area stores, restaurants and entertainment venues.

The event includes a Chinese auction, a 50/50 raffle and door prizes.

The snow date will be Feb. 9.

AARP tax return assistance and preparation will take place at Northampton Recreation Center, 1 Lerchenmiller Drive. Those interested should visit the rec center 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 27 to set up a future appointment.

Volunteers will be at the rec center Mondays, Feb. 3-April 13, to assist with tax returns.

There is no guarantee walk-ins can be assisted.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet Feb. 12 at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 11 a.m.

Lorrie Milheim will entertain.

Refreshments will be served.
