CMS News: Donate to food drive at middle school by Jan. 31

This is your last chance to donate to Catasauqua Middle School Student Forum’s annual food drive, the CMS Souper Bowl of Caring. The drive ends Jan. 31.

Students are encouraged to bring in nonperishable and nonexpired food items. No glass jars or bottles will be accepted.

Homerooms will compete to see which can bring in the most items. The winning homeroom will receive a pizza party.

There will be early dismissal Feb. 5. Students will be dismissed 12:20 p.m.

The CMS PTF valentine dance is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. Feb. 7 in the school gymnasium.

Orders for the CMS-PTF fauschnaut fundraiser are due Feb. 10.

Checks should be made payable to CMS-PTF.

Order pickup is at CMS Feb. 24.

The CMS winter band concert is set for Feb. 12.

The snow date will be Feb. 19.

Looking ahead: Schools will be closed Feb. 14 and 17 for the Presidents Day holiday.

Register and prepay by Jan. 30 to reserve your spot to make a kangaroo with joey plush at Public Library of Catasauqua, 302 Bridge St.

The event will be held 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12.

All proceeds will be donated to Wildlife Information Rescue Education in New South Wales, Australia, to assist animals injured by the recent fires.

In case of inclement weather, notifications will be made through the power announcement system. Additionally, postings will be made on the website, cattysd.org, or through local television and radio stations.

If school is closed, all extracurricular practices, rehearsals, events and contests are canceled.
