Wrestlers knock off Palmerton

The Catty wrestling team continues to put up victories, their most recent prior to Press deadline was a 42-28 win over Palmerton last week to improve them to 4-1 as they sit atop the West Division.

Against the Bombers, the match started at 106, as Jacob Nye dropped a 10-8 decision.

Catty got on the board at 113 and 120 with Jaryn Hartranft and Gavin Fehr forfeit wins to make it 12-3.

At 126, Austin Brett pinned his opponent in 3:06 to give Catty an 18-3 lead. Cole Brown would be on the losing end of a 15-5 score which cut into the Roughs lead to make it 18-7.

But Ben Langsdorf won a 14-9 decision followed by a Brian Hoagland 7-6 decision win to extend the Roughie advantage to 24-10.

A Palmerton pin at 160 cut the score to 24-16 and then another pin at 170 made it a 24-22 contest as the Bombers tried to make a run.

Adam Reinhart got a pin in 3:30 at 182 to make the score 30-22, but the Bombers added a fall at 195 to cut it to 30-28.

Zack Scheirer at 220, and LaVonte Bouie at 285, both pinned their opponents to end the match with a Catty victory.
