Here is a bit of local history. Some of the roads can be translated as follows: Grundsau Road (Groundhog Road), Fensamaus Road (Chipmunk Road) and Weissenbergh (White Castle or Fortress).
Many family names are now street addresses: Loch Valley, (Seip)stown, Werley’s Corner, (Seiberling)sville, (Hyneman)sville, Kistler Valley and Holben Valley.
There are many other examples of honoraria in the township.
The “History of Weisenberg Township (1753-1976)” has a wealth of information on the local area.
Also, the Weisenberg Lowhill Historical Society, 4585 Werleys Corner Road, New Tripoli, has many interesting facts on the township.
Everyone is welcome to visit.
