UPPER MACUNGIE: St. John’s Lutheran Church offering free community dinner

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, is hosting a free community dinner 5-7 p.m. Jan. 17.

The meal includes chicken potpie, applesauce, salad, dessert and more.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Reservations are not required.

Parkland Library is offering a “Growing Adventurous Eaters” class for adults with registered dietitian Kim Slack of On Your Table from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 18.

Learn tips to turn dinnertime with children into a peaceful time while enjoying a variety of foods.

The library will show the movie, “Bringing Up Baby,” at 1 p.m. Jan. 20.

Book Quest for adults will meet 7-8 p.m. Jan. 21 to discuss the novel “The Paragon Hotel” by Lyndsay Faye.

Unleash your creativity and learn how to decrease stress at the Joy of Coloring class for adults 3-4:30 p.m. Jan. 22.

The library staff will provide the coloring pages, and pencils.

The Teen Anime Club for students in grades six through 12 will meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Jan. 22.

Preschool story time for children 3-5 years of age is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 23, 29 and 30.

A caregiver must remain in the library.

Join the library’s knitting and crocheting circle 2:30-4:30 p.m. Jan. 23.

Bring knitting materials and spend an afternoon swapping knitting and crocheting tips and tricks. All ages are welcome to attend.

Kids in third through fifth grade are invited to experience the fun of Chris Grabenstein’s book “Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library” by participating in a Lemoncello style escape room 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. Jan. 25.

A Teen Dragons and Dungeon Night for kid’s in grades seven through 12 is being offered 6-8 p.m. Jan. 27.

All levels of players are welcome to attend.

Adults, join library staff for an experience of fun, intrigue, role playing and sleuthing at the library’s Mystery Night 4:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 28.

Upper Macungie is partnering with The Nanny Loft to offer a Safe Sitter Essential with CPR class 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 20 at the township building, 8330 Schantz Road, Breinigsville.

The class will offer participants safety, child care, first aid and rescue and life and business skills. There is a per student fee to attend.

St. John’s UCC, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville, will be having a peace prayer vigil 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 at the corner of Main and Church streets, Fogelsville. Everyone is invited to pray and imagine with church members. Parking is available at the church.
