SALISBURY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

St. Luke’s Emergency & Transport Services is changing its subscription drive mailing from January to July.

St. Luke’s ETS subscribers, including those who live in Salisbury Township, will have continued coverage from January to July at no extra charge, Mark Lohman, St. Luke’s Network Director said.

In a statement provided to The Press, Lohman said the change was made “in an effort to streamline the mailings of our annual subscription drive.”

St. Luke’s ETS Director of Operations Rodney Wolfe updated the Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners regarding the change.

“This is about the time of year folks would get their subscription notices,” Wolfe said.

The bulk mailing to subscribers is expected to be a cost-savings.

Township commissioners met Jan. 9 for a brief meeting following the Jan. 6 board of commissioners reorganization meeting. Township commissioners last met Dec. 12, 2019 – their one meeting in December, when they voted to approve the 2020 township budget. Township commissioners met Nov. 26, 2019, because of the Nov. 28, 2019 Thanksgiving holiday. Wolfe addressed commissioners at the Nov. 26, 2019 meeting.

“Part of our changes gave us incredible data-mining that went by zip codes,” Wolfe explained. “As of December, I will have four months to look at response times.”

According to its website, St. Luke’s ETS provides 911 emergency transport, non-emergent transport and para-transport van services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

St. Luke’s ETS maintains licensure as “Critical Care-Specialty Care Transportation, Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support units,” the website states.

St. Luke’s ETS operations include 16 ambulances, more than 108 employees and in-house transport billing services.

In addition to serving Salisbury Township and Fountain Hill, St. Luke’s ETS provides primary advanced and basic life support ambulance services to: Pocono, Jackson and Hamilton townships, Monroe County; Quakertown, Richlandtown and Milford, Bucks County and Knowlton Township, N.J.

St. Luke’s ETS also provides mutual-aid coverage and MCI assistance to its surrounding agencies and municipalities.
