An Upper Milford Township man was fatally injured in an incident in Lower Milford Township Jan. 8.

The man was identified as James Diefenderfer, 64, of Zionsville, in a media release from the Lehigh County coroner.

Diefenderfer was pronounced dead 1:38 p.m. at a parking lot in the 6300 block of Hoffman Lane.

An autopsy conducted Jan. 12 determined the manner of death to be an accident. The cause of the death was found to be blunt force trauma, according to officials.

At approximately 12:40 p.m., Diefenderfer became entangled in a commercial vehicle power take off shaft, according to a media release.

Investigators of the incident include Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville and the Allentown office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
