Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, 432 W. Walnut S., Allentown, will host Kutztown University Professor Gregory Hanson at 1 p.m. on Jan. 11.
Dr. Hanson will be speaking about a local 1940s radio play featuring Asseba and Sabina, a fictional Pennsylvania Dutch couple.
He has studied the show extensively and translated many of the radio scripts from the original Pennsylvania Dutch to author his book “The Radio Adventures of Asseba and Sabina.”
His presentation will explore the radio series and will include audio and visual material, so that the audience can get a flavor of how the dialect series was produced and performed.
Hanson’s book will be available for purchase, and the author will sign copies.
Admission to the event is free to members. There is an admission fee for adult and children non-members.
The Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum is a 30,000 square foot teaching institution that attracts a diverse audience.
