LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. Who are the members of your family: parents, siblings and pets?

A. The members of my family are: my mom, Irene Skoutelas; my dad, George Skoutelas and my sister, Evi Skoutelas. I have two dogs, Sonny and Mocha.

Q. What do you most enjoy about being a senior at Salisbury High School?

A. As a senior, I joined the Emerging Health Program, which allowed me to take a college course as well as have shadowing opportunities in health care settings. The freedom to have this opportunity as a senior is my favorite part since I have a slightly lessened course load because of my time spent there, and I also get to prepare for my future.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subjects are English and science. I like reading and writing, which makes English fun and science is a really broad topic with so much to learn and many different aspects to it.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. A special recognition that I have received was my induction into National Honor Society sophomore year, which is a club I have been a member of since then. I have also received high honor roll every quarter since freshman year.

Q. What are your favorite extracurricular activities?

A. Though the season is over, my favorite extracurricular activity is cheer. I’ve been doing it since Salisbury Youth Association and it’s definitely something I’m going to miss about high school. In addition, this year I’ve also joined swim, which is a fun experience.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school, I plan to attend a four-year university and most likely major in biology. Right now, I’m in between careers, but physical therapy and physician assistant both seem like good options for me.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date is deciding what I’m going to do with the rest of my life after high school and college and even what my major in college is going to be.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered for being a kind and hardworking person.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my mom because she works very hard to provide for my sister and me. She wants the best for the both of us and I want to be as hardworking as her when I’m older.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. If I could give any advice to my peers, it would be to work your hardest. As long as you work to the best of your ability, you know that you couldn’t have done anything more.
