The Lehigh Valley Zoo and Christmas Décor have announced a partnership with the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley to open Winter Light Spectacular 5:30-10 p.m. Dec. 23.
The Lehigh Valley Zoo and Christmas Décor will donate $2 to the foundation for every ticket sold at entrance on the night of the event.
There will also be donation boxes placed around the zoo to offer additional opportunities to support the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing free programs and services to local pediatric cancer children and their families.
These programs and services include various forms of financial assistance (including bill-paying assistance; gift cards for hospital cafeterias, gas, and grocery stores; Adopt-A-Family Holiday assistance; and college scholarships), along with support groups, tickets to local sporting and entertainment events, a week-long day camp called Camp Smile, a monthly teen program, monthly visits to the infusion center/clinic and to inpatient families, activities for parents, and much more.
Ticket on Dec. 23, will remain the normal weekday prices for adults and children, ages 2-11, and LV Zoo adult members and children, ages 2-11.
In addition to 1.2 million lights, the Winter Light Show also features a pair of reindeer, classic holiday scenes, live performances, interactions with an abundance of popular characters, multiple fire pits, hot chocolate and so many other holiday delights.
Revenue from the event supports animal conservation projects and programs at the Lehigh Valley Zoo.
Usual hours of operations for the Winter Light Show are from 5:30-10 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and 5-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
The event will break on Christmas Day and run through Dec. 29.
The Lehigh Valley Zoo’s largest annual fundraiser, Christmas Décor Winter Light Spectacular is presented by Service Electric Cable TV & Communications, Inc., and powered by Green Mountain Energy.
