Lowhill tax rate steady for 2020

Lowhill Township Supervisor Chairman Richard Hughes announced during the December meeting the 2020 tax millage rate will remain the same at .66425 mils.

Treasurer Robb Werley motioned to approve the resolution and Supervisor Vice Chairman Buddy Wessner seconded it.

The board also announced the 2020 reorganization meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Jan. 6.

The January board meeting will take place that same night after the reorganization meeting.

Auditors will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 7, 2020.

Administrator Brian Carl then presented the board with his report.

Carl reported Integrity Auto has just over 20 cars on the property. This does not exceed the amount allowed at the site.

He also noted not all the cars are in actual parking spots.

Carl announced there is nothing really new about the Corporate Court issues with the Allentown Comprehensive Treatment Center.

The center was going to hire someone new to help patrol and control any smoking, litter or other issues, so it does not happen off the property.

Roadmaster Joe Kalusky provided the board with his report.

In November, the road crew repaired two salt spreaders, did some pipe cleaning and some tree clean up due to windy weather, cold patched some roads and had two days of winter maintenance.

In December, they plan to do any necessary winter maintenance and some tree trimming.

Under new business, the board approved 2020 user fees.

This is for inspection and user fees for building codes, driveways and zoning ordinances.

Wessner made a motion to approve the resolution and Werley seconded it.
