Want to win a gift card? Anytime a Whitehall High School student checks out a book in the library during this month, he or she will be entered to win a $25 gift card.

With each book, a student will have the chance to add a snowflake on the library tree.

Whitehall-Coplay Middle School is continuing its ZephyrTough Employee of the Month. If your child has a favorite teacher or staff member who has gone above and beyond for the students, parents have the opportunity to recognize them. Colleagues may recognize their co-workers as well.

Visits whitehallcoplay.org and continue to the WCMS page; follow the link to vote for the Employee of the Month. Be sure to fill in all the fields of this form.

There are a lot of amazing staff members out there - time to give some recognition!

Any child approved for free or reduced lunches will receive the daily meal and beverage. Additional items, such as fish crackers, carrots and dip and popcorn, are not included.

Parents/guardians may deposit funds into their child’s account if their child would like to purchase these additional items.

If a student is purchasing breakfast, he or she may go directly to the cafeteria from their morning bus. Breakfast may include PopTarts or cereal for $1.60 (full price) or for 30 cents (reduced cost).

Parents should remind their children to let their teacher know whether they are having lunch or packing lunch.

Lunch information is available at myschoolbucks.com.

WCSD’s trip policy states that educational trips are limited to seven school days per year. Any days missed for travel beyond the seven days of absence will be illegal days if the student’s age is 16 or younger.

The family educational trip request form (available in the school office) must be submitted to the office prior to departure.

The district prefers all trips be scheduled during holiday breaks.

Instructions were included in a letter sent home in the beginning of the school year that has student/user identification and a password.
