Viking basketball’s 90th season opened Dec. 7 against Danville at home in Rockne Hall. Eastern Pennsylvania Conference play began Dec. 10 at Nazareth. The Vikings then host rivals Parkland and Whitehall the same week.

Seven of Allentown Central Catholic High School’s choir members participated in the 100th 6ABC/Dunkin’ Philly Thanksgiving Parade. They performed as part of the youth choir and sang on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum. Congratulations to Emily Ahern, Jah’Kai Douglas, Robert Garza, Tess Horn, Riley Loz, Elena Wenrich-Quinones and Natalie Woytec.

A Gingerbread House Decorating Contest, sponsored by the Class of 2021, will be held 6-8 p.m. Dec. 16. in Masson auditorium. There is a per person cost which includes free karaoke. There will be prizes for top decorators. Students may buy tickets during all lunch periods.

The ACCHS Ecology Club recently volunteered at the Allentown Municipal Golf Course to remove invasive plant species along the golf course creek, to help rebalance the ecosystem. The City of Allentown Parks Department and the Friends of the Allentown Parks were very appreciative of their efforts.
