Firefighters handout carbon monoxide alarms

I.A.F.F. Local 302, Allentown Firefighters gave away carbon monoxide alarms recently at the Hibernia Fire Station, Allentown.

According to Jeremy Warmkessel, president of I.A.F.F. Local 302, providing Allentown residents with carbon monoxide alarms is just as important as having a smoke alarm in a home.

Also held every Friday is a program called “Firehouse Fridays,” during which local children are provided a healthy meal after school.

Firefighters at the Hibernia Station serve the children food prepared by the Allentown YMCA and the Allentown City Health Bureau.

Funding for the project comes from a federal grant designed to provide healthy meals to underserved children and family members.
