An organizational meeting was held Dec. 3 by the East Penn Board of School Directors. Ken Bacher and Paul Champagne were promptly returned to their previously held posts of president and vice president respectively, by unanimous board votes.
Board Secretary Janine Allen presided over the meeting until Adam Smith was elected president pro tempore to briefly oversee the swearing in of new members and the election of officers.
Newly elected director Naomi Winch will be serving a 2-year term to fulfill the unexpired term of Alan Earnshaw. Ken Bacher, Allan Byrd, Joshua Levinson, Jeffrey Jankowski and Paul Champagne were re-elected to 4-year terms.
The directors approved the meeting schedule for 2020. The 2020 meeting dates are as follows: Jan. 13 and 27, Feb. 10 and 24, March 9 and 23, April 27, May 11, June 8 and 22, July 13, Aug. 10 and 24, Sept. 14, Oct. 12 and 26, Nov. 9 and Dec. 7 (organization) and 14.
The board also voted to designate the East Penn Press as one of three newspapers for advertising purposes during the 2020 calendar year.
There were no requests to address the board and no executive session.
The East Penn Board of School Directors meet regularly 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month. The next meeting is scheduled for Dec. 9 in the board room of the administration building where free WiFi is available for audience members. The public can access documents through BoardDocs via a link on the district website.
