Board OKS waiver

Horizon Builders/Keller received a waiver from Washington Township from the need to place slopes on the plan for a lot line adjustment to combine two lots into one at 2794 Scout House Road.

With the waiver received, conditional approval was given at the supervisors’ October meeting.

In other matters, the board approved exonerations - two for military service and one for insufficient earnings - from the 2019 per capita tax.

Citizens Fire Company asked the township to buy into a grant to repair pipes where water runs into the fire station and ice forms on the trucks.

The correction will have to cross Slatedale’s Main Street.

The buy-in will be for $5,000 of a state grant arranged by state Sen. Pat Browne, R-16th, for $50,000 for a total of $55,000.

Saying it would be for a one-time contribution, Supervisor Chairman Josh Friebolin asked for a vote which was favorable for providing the assistance.

The township’s three fire companies have paid for materials for fire safety training in the schools in Walnutport, Slatington and Washington.

The cost is $530 per municipality and they want the municipalities to take over the costs.
