Whitehall High School students are encouraged to join in the mission to remember, honor and teach with National Wreaths Across America Day, happening noon Dec. 14 at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown.

Join more than 2 million volunteers nationwide in placing wreaths on veterans’ headstones.

Invite your family and friends to an experience they will never forget, as volunteers take a break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season to honor our servicemen and women and their families.

A holiday party will take place at Gockley Elementary Dec. 18. Whitehall-Coplay PTO PLUS will help Gockley students celebrate the holiday.

Santa Claus is making a list and checking it twice, and he will be at Gockley to visit all those not naughty, but nice!

His helpers will be here, too, handing out a special surprise gift from the PTO PLUS.

Want to win a gift card? Anytime a WHS student checks out a book in the library during this month, he or she will be entered to win a $25 gift card.

With each book, a student will have the chance to add a snowflake on the library tree.

The winner will be selected Dec. 19 from the tree.

It’s that time of year again at Whitehall-Coplay Middle School, along with the help of Volunteer Center of Lehigh Valley. Bring extra smiles to less-advantaged children in the area with the Holiday Hope Chests program.

In 2018, the group collected, organized and distributed more than 7,700 shoe boxes, filled with gifts for children in need here in the Lehigh Valley. This year, nonprofits are requesting 10,000-plus boxes. Help meet this most ambitious goal.

Mark your calendar for the upcoming winter break - students will have a half-day Dec. 20; schools will be closed Dec. 23-Jan. 1, 2020; and classes resume Jan. 2, 2020.
