Abigail Mack Freedom HS
Grade: 12
Family members: My dad is Dale Mack, my mom is Cindy Brady, and I have two brothers named Alex Mack (21) and Thomas Brady (7).
Favorite subject: I am currently taking AP Environmental Science and I find it very interesting. I have also taken Intro to Kinesiology. That class really sparked my interest in how the body works and moves. I have loved almost every science class that I have taken..
Activities: I am on the Liberty cross country team and am planning to do track and field in the spring. This year will be my fourth year on the Liberty swim team and this year will also be my 11th year swimming for the Bethlehem YMCA. I am also currently the President of Hosa which is a club that encourages students to learn and explore different health care occupations. I horseback ride every now and then when I get the chance.
Next steps: After high school I plan to attend college for biomechanical engineering.
Heroes: My dad is someone I look up to and who I go to for guidance. He always has something encouraging to say when I’m unmotivated or want to give up. He has always taught me and my brother to always do the right thing and never quit. He also always has a joke ready to cheer me up when I’m down. He is the kind of hardworking, honest, and talented person, and parent, that I want to be when I am older.
Current job(s): I am a lifeguard at the Bethlehem YMCA and I teach private and group lessons. In the summer I work at Northwest Swim Club and Bridle Woods apartment.
Volunteer/community work: I help out with the all day Special Olympics event every year and also with the Special Olympics swimmers. I volunteer for Autism Water Awareness during the school year.
Likes: I like hanging out with my friends, playing with my 3 dogs, and cooking.
Dislikes: I don’t like cleaning after cooking and cleaning up after my dogs.
Greatest accomplishment (so far): My greatest accomplishment athletically has been going to Nationals for swimming. My greatest accomplishment academically has been keeping my honor roll status for all of my high school career so far.
Advice for peers: Advice that I would give to my peers is that it’s true what they say that time flies by so work hard and make the most out of the time we have in high school.
