Q. Who are the members of your family: parents, siblings and pets?

A. My family consists of my mother, Valerie Beattie and my two older sisters, Lasair and Aife.

Q. What do you most enjoy about being a senior at Emmaus High School?

A. As a senior, I really enjoy interacting with teachers that have known me for all of high school, or even since middle school, because of how well they know my personality and abilities. It is nice to have advisers that really know you to turn to for advice on post-high school plans or just everyday problems.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. I love history because I feel that studying history helps us to learn from the past in order to be more successful in the present. I also find it very interesting to look at trends as they develop through various cultures over time.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am a National Merit semifinalist and placed second at the regional History Day competition. I also have attended the state History Day competition and qualified for district choir three times and regional choir once. I am also in National Honor Society and Delta Epsilon Phi.

Q. What are your favorite extracurricular activities?

A. My favorite extracurricular activities are stage crew, choir and playing soccer. I serve as the stage manager for the theater department at Emmaus and take part in the EHS Chorale, Accabella and Select Choir.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school, I aim to go to college and study public health and then attend law school and work in public health policy.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge has been deciding on what I want to do with the rest of my life. I found it very difficult to take time to be introspective and determine who I am and what I want. Ultimately, I realized my passion for history, health and public policy that led me toward public health.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as a hard worker, a reliable student and a good friend.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my mother, because she works very hard at a job that she enjoys in addition to being extremely intelligent, hardworking and kind.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Remember to take time for yourself and that life is so much bigger than the people and problems that we have in high school right now. There is so much more waiting for us beyond graduation.
