LOWER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
During the Nov. 21 Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting, Mountain View Estates (formerly Elbow Lane subdivision) was introduced as a unique development. It borders the Pennsylvania Turnpike which will cause serious constraints in the building of patios and other outside structures and areas. Commissioner Brian Higgins spoke about the turnpike widening. There is a proposed easement along the Pennsylvania Turnpike line but the concern is over the widening and water runoff.

A discussion followed over the lengthy delays of the plan. Time will be extended again until Dec. 20 for the preliminary/final plan, lot line adjustment and the sewer module due to the extensive plan changes.
In other business, the commissioners approved a lot line adjustment for two lots on Riverbend Road. These lots are to be combined. An existing structure straddles the lots. The plan was approved with no contest.

This is a dangerous crossing as there is a stormwater problem which affects the crossing. Township Solicitor Peter Lehr said a permit is needed to close the crossing. The township does not have authority to close it until the permit is received.
