An 81-year-old Kutztown woman was killed when her vehicle struck a tree around 1:41 p.m. Dec. 2 at 1136 Edward Ave., South Whitehall Township.

According to Lehigh County Coroner Eric Minnich, Constance Schweyer was pronounced dead by Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Jack Fliter at 2:10 p.m. that day at the scene.

Minnich said the cause of her death was blunt force trauma to the head due to a motor vehicle accident.

The manner of her death was ruled an accident, he said.

According to South Whitehall Township police, Schweyer, was traveling southbound on Lincoln Avenue on a wet roadway when she appeared to lose control of her vehicle which left the roadway and struck the tree.
