ALBANY TOWNSHIP UPDATE

Berks County District Attorney John Adams has just announced that Lisa Snyder of the 2400 block of Route 143, Albany Township, has been charged with homicide in the deaths of her two children, Brinley L. Snyder, 4, and Conner Snyder, 8, who died Sept. 26 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Lehigh County Coroner Eric Minnich told The Press via telephone at 10 a.m. he would be releasing information shortly.

Autopsies had been performed on Sept. 30 but the cause and manner of death for Brinley and Conner awaited further forensic testing.

State Trooper David Boehm, public information officer for Troop L, Reading, said in a news release emailed to The Press at 9:38 a.m. Dec. 2, that Lisa Snyder was taken into custody at her residence and was being arraigned in the office of Magisterial District Judge Kim Bagenstose, Hamburg.

Adams stated he was holding a press conference at the Berks County Courthouse, Reading, at 2 p.m. Dec. 2.

In addition to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, the deaths were investigated by State Police, Troop L, Hamburg, with assistance from the Berks County District Attorney’s Office.

The children were found unconscious at 4:37 p.m. Sept. 23 at a house in the 2400 block of Route 143.

Both were MedEvac’d to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Volunteer firefighters with the Kempton Fire Company, along with Kutztown, Hamburg and Cetronia ambulance corps personnel assisted at the scene.
