While the high school winter sports season has a few weeks yet before game officially begin, scholastic ice hockey, a club sport, is already well into its season.
The Emmaus team is still searching for its first win. The Hornets are 0-6-1 as they near the halfway point of the Lehigh Valley Scholastic Hockey League schedule.
Emmaus has suffered losses to Freedom, Nazareth, Northampton (twice), Southern Lehigh and Phillipsburg. The Hornets’ tie came in their second meeting with Nazareth, 4-4 on Nov. 4.
Hunter Engelman leads Emmaus with six points on four goals and two assists. Some other stat leaders include Daniel McCabe (3 goals, 2 assists), Owen Porreca (3 goals), Nicolas Hurlburt (3 assists), Liam Porreca (3 assists), Parker Leight (2 goals, assist) and Ryan Bonfrancesco (goal, 2 assists).
Goal keeper Austin Moudy has a .855 goals against average while allowing 4.86 goals per game.
