Coplay Public Library: Meet the new library director

My name is Veronica Laroche, and I am the new director at Coplay Public Library.

I am a graduate of Lebanon Valley College, and I am currently attending the University of Illinois for my master’s degree in library and information science. I have been working at the library since May 2015 and have loved every minute of it.

I look forward to further getting to know the community and serving its needs. Feel free to stop in anytime and introduce yourself - my door is always open.

Join us for game night 5-7 p.m. Nov. 25. Our Scrabble experts are always on hand and waiting to be stumped.

If you would like to try a different game to take our experts out of their comfort level, feel free to make suggestions or start up a game of your own with friends and family. We have Uno, Twister, Candy Land and Connect Four available.

The library will close 5 p.m. Nov. 27 and will be closed Nov. 28.

It will reopen for regular hours after the holiday, 10 a.m. Nov. 29.

Children of all ages are invited to storytime and crafts with Miss Veronica and Miss Janice 11 a.m. Dec. 5, 12 and 19. No preregistration is necessary.

If you have any questions regarding storytime, contact the library at 610-262-7351.

You are cordially invited to the holiday open house Dec. 21. The program will kick off 11 a.m. with a special storytime, followed by singing, a movie and refreshments.

Our theme this year is “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

Join the library staff in showing up in your favorite pajamas, and don’t forget to bring your favorite stuffed animal so they can celebrate the holidays, too.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent book sale and basket raffle. We were able to raise funds for some special projects all because of your kindness and generosity.

Now that winter is almost upon us, we would like to update you on our closing policy. Our primary concern is the safety of our patrons and staff. While we make every effort to remain open, there will be times when it will be necessary to close the library.

Follow us on WFMZ Stormcenter. We will also post any closings on our Facebook page. No fines are charged for any days we are closed.
