Lynn board meeting quick and to the point

Lynn Township supervisors’ meeting in October was a quick one.

The board attended to business and quickly adjourned.

Lynnport Fire Company lauded the success of its 75th anniversary event.

The fire company received a $95,000 grant to repair the station roof and another $15,000 grant for renovating the bathrooms.

New Tripoli Fire Chief Peter Christ reported firefighters responded to 113 fire calls this year so far.

Their guns and cash fundraiser was a big success, he said.

Several members are enrolled in various courses pertaining to firefighting.

The road report had some repeat duties from last month. The crew helped Lowhill Township with a paving project, repaired some road signs, installed pipe, worked at the park, filled potholes and worked at the transfer station.

Ontelaunee Park will have some trees removed by K&K Tree Specialists for a cost of $1,375.

Electrician David Wright will be installing a dusk-to-dawn light at the dog park.

After a short public hearing, supervisors voted to adopt ordinance amending the zoning ordinance to allow more than one principal use on a lot in the Village Center District.

They also authorized the advertising for an outside auditing firm to audit the financial records for 2019.

During the board’s September meeting, supervisors gave conditional approval to the one-lot Paul Kuhn subdivision along Muse Road.

According to Chris Noll, engineer, most of the issues have been taken care of, so the board gave conditional approval to the plan.

Postupak Painting was given the job to repair and paint the pedestrian bridge in Ontelaunee Park at a cost of $19,657.
