The 53rd annual ecumenical community Thanksgiving service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 24 at Redeemed Christian Church of God, 5 N. Third St.

St. John’s Lutheran Church and St. Peter Roman Catholic Church join Redeemed Christian Church of God for the service. There will be special music for the program.

The church will provide a full buffet following the service for those attending.

Coplay Public Library will have a game night 5-7 p.m. Nov. 25. The public is invited to participate for the free event.

Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association’s food bank will provide a chicken, filling, cranberry sauce, corn and more that families can prepare in their kitchens for Thanksgiving.

The tradition continues for Christmas.

The borough is still looking for the perfect tree for the upcoming annual tree-lighting program at borough hall, Fourth and Center streets. The event is sponsored by Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association.
