Charter Arts: ‘Christmas Carol’ Dec. 7
The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts will host Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, starring Olivier award-winning British producer and actor Guy Masterson, will be presented at 7 p.m. on December 7 in the Charter Arts theatre, 321 E. Third St. For show tickets, visit www.CharterArts.org.
The London based actor, director, producer and writer will conduct a master-class for theatre students the day prior to the show.
The great-nephew of Richard Burton and second cousin of Italian star Marcello Mastroianni is the most successful and award-winning independent theatre producer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His mono-drama, Playing Burton, was performed at the 1994 festival.
Charter Arts: Dance Soup Nov. 22, 23
Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts students present skills learned in Improvisation and Dance Composition classes. 30 pieces of work from a variety of genres with musical selections. Director: Jennifer Dite-Weaver. Evening performances will take place on November 22 & 23 at 7pm and a matinee performance will take place on November 23 at 2 p.m. Cost. Freedom HS: Student is city logo winner
Sophomore Aidan Swenor was named the winner of the City of Bethlehem official census logo design contest. The design was one of 50 submitted by FHS Business teacher Kristin Spang on behalf of two of her classes.

Jefferson ES: Herron donation benfits pedal bike
Thomas Jefferson ES students have been given a monetary gift from Herron Funeral Home. This community partner donated their Musikfest parking lot money to ES for the pedal bike intervention program.
Marvine ES: Blue Ribbon Affiliate
The Marvine Family Center has been named a Blue Ribbon Affiliate of the Parents As Teachers National Center Inc. The award makes the organization one of the top performing home visit affiliates.
The program includes home visits, group connections, child screenings and connections to community resources. The goal is to equip family members with the knowledge and resources to prepare children for a stronger start in life.
