Emmaus High School recently announced its 2020 National Merit Scholar semifnalists.

Fionnuir M. Ni Chochlain, of Macungie, is president of the Interact Club at EHS. A senior, she is a member of Acca Bella and the Select Choir and is an officer in both clubs. She played junior varsity and varsity girls soccer for the school through her junior year. She is stage manager for the stage crew and vice president of the photography club. She also works part time and teaches piano.

Ni Chochlain plans to study history.

Arthur Trexler Schmidt III, of Emmaus, is president of the EHS chapter of the American Computer Science League and vice president of the EHS Pennsylvania Math League club. A senior, he also is president of the Latin Club. Schmidt runs for the EHS cross country team and competes in javelin in track and field. A Boy Scout and volunteer at the Da Vinci Center, he also develops software.

Schmidt plans to study computer science/artificial intelligence.

Stephanie Sipics, of Macungie, is a secretary of the math club at EHS. She is a violinist in the school orchestra and a member of Sinfonia and plays piano. A Girl Scout, she serves on the advisory board for the Girl Scout service unit. Sipics is a member of Girls Who Code at EHS and works at Mathnasium tutoring center. She is a member of the Activism Club at EHS.

Sipics plans to study biomedical and bioengineering.
