According to the Lehigh County Voter Registration Office, having garnered an unofficial 28,463 votes, 51.04 percent of the total 55,763 votes cast in Tuesday’s General Election, Democrat Mark Pinsley seems to have unseated two-term incumbent Lehigh County Controller Republican Glenn Eckhart for a four-year term in office. Eckhart received an unofficial 27,300 votes, 48.96 percent of the vote.

Pinsley earned a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Indiana University-Kelley School of Business, a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in finance from Northeastern University and is a graduate of Kutztown University.

He served with the Army Reserves while in college.

Before the election, Pinsley told The Press the biggest challenge financially for Lehigh County is cutting expenses or finding new revenue sources.

“It may take the county years to get to a balanced budget,” he said.

“It will be important for the county executive and the county board to agree on a path forward.

Pinsley, his wife, Nina, daughter Jada and son Grant reside in South Whitehall.
