LOWHILL TWP: Christ’s Church having hoagie sale

Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, is accepting orders until Nov. 10 for its sale of hoagies and sandwiches made by R&K Subs.

Choose from Italian, ham, turkey, roast beef and American. Whole grain is available with turkey and all cheese sandwiches.

Pretzel sandwiches include Italian, ham, turkey, roast beef and cheese, ham and Swiss, bologna and cheese, all cheese, chicken, egg and tuna salad.

Orders maybe picked up at church 5-6 p.m. on Nov. 18.

The church will cookup a chicken potpie dinner 4-7 p.m. Nov. 16.

Meal includes potpie, lettuce with bacon dressing, or applesauce, roll, beverage and dessert.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville, Orefield, is accepting orders until Nov. 10 for its candy sale.

Choose from half or one-pound of light or dark chocolate peanut cluster, light or dark chocolate raisin cluster, light or dark chocolate cashew patties, light or dark chocolate peanut butter, light or dark chocolate covered pretzels and more.

Pick up is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 14 at the church.

Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, will celebrate Veterans Day Nov. 9-11.

All veterans and active service members will receive a small discount off their ticket.

Daily activities will include a create your own custom dog tag station, Patriotic prize wheel, red, white and blue bracelet creation station.

Learn more about the most patriotic animal, the Bald Eagle at the daily keeper talks at 12:30 p.m.

A veteran guest speaker will educate visitors on the importance of service animals at 11 a.m. Nov. 11.

The zoo in partnership with Christmas Décor and Service Electric Cable TV, will be kicking off its sixth season of the Winter Light Spectacular Nov. 15.

This season’s spectacular, which will feature 31 scheduled nights, will run 5:30-10 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays Nov. 15 to Dec. 29.

There will be no showings on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Bring the camera to capture children’s faces when they encounter Santa, Radley the Sea Turtle, The Grinch, Woody, Buzz, Elsa, Princess Belle, Olaf and friends.
