STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Q. What grade are you in?
A. I am in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. AP Calculus is my favorite subject. Math has always come very naturally to me, so I really enjoy the challenge AP Calculus provides to a subject I have always loved.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I was inducted into National Honor Society when I was a sophomore.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
A. I am a member of the concert band, jazz band, marching band, chorus, advanced chorus and theater.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. After high school, I hope to attend either University of Delaware or Rutgers University for a pre-veterinary medicine program, then go on to attend veterinary school. I then want to work as a veterinarian or an animal physical therapist.
Q. What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?
A. My biggest challenge so far has been to get involved and be more outgoing. I’ve always been very shy, but throughout high school, I have tried to be more involved in the activities I’m in and talk to more people. It was tough at times, but it definitely paid off in the end.
Q. What do you want to be remembered for?
A. I want to be remembered as someone who was kind and a caring friend that people felt comfortable coming up to and asking for help.
Q. Who is in your family?
A. My parents are Janet and Joe, my two older sisters are Samantha and Sabrina and I have a dog, Albus.
Q. Do you have someone you look up to?
A. I look up to my older sister Sabrina. For years I witnessed her incredible work ethic that inspired me to have the work ethic I have today. Watching her dedication to what she was passionate about led me to want to have that same dedication for my education and what I was passionate about. I know I would not be the person I am today if it had not been for the tremendous example she set for me.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. I would tell my peers that it’s always important to stay true to who you are, but also don’t be afraid to go outside of your comfort zone. Try to talk to people and get involved in activities so that you don’t regret the opportunities you might miss out on.
