Sheckler Elementary will be closed Nov. 11 for an Act 80 teacher-in service day.

Regularly scheduled classes will resume Nov. 12.

It’s almost time for a Sheckler tradition! The 37th annual Thanksgiving dinner, dress-up day and food drive will take place Nov. 21 at the school for all grade levels at Sheckler.

Students will have their meal cost deducted from their lunch account. Only adults and non-Sheckler students need to prepay for their meal. If you plan on attending to have lunch with your child this day, your payment is due to your child’s teacher, along with the form that was sent home, by Nov. 8. Checks should be made payable to Catasauqua Cafeteria Fund.

All guests are asked to report to the gymnasium and wait for their child’s class to be called, then enter the cafeteria with them.

Please be advised of each grade level’s designated lunch time on this day. Students must eat lunch at their grade’s time slot and may not be pulled out to have lunch with siblings in other grades who may also attend Sheckler.

The Thanksgiving Day dinner food drive will also be taking place on the stage. Nonperishable food items and canned goods will be collected during the dinner and will be donated to Catasauqua Community Food Bank to help families in our area. It’s a perfect time to have a thankful heart to help a worthy cause.
