STUDENT PROFILE
Name: Destinee Negron
Grade: 12
Family members: My family members consist of my mother, Valeria, and my three sisters, Ariana, Elena, and Linda.
Favorite subject(s): My favourite subjects are English and art. I love reading and writing and art helps me express who I am as a person on a canvas.
Activities: Most of my time is dedicated to doing my homework. I don’t do much, but if I am, I am reading or doing homework.
Next steps (after high school): After high school I plan on going to a local college. I would like to continue to do internships for newspaper companies and I would love to get a degree in corporate communications.
Career goals: For my career goals I aspire to become a journalist. I plan on gaining more experience by writing and doing more interviews with many people. My main major career goal is to work somewhere where it is well known or create my own workspace that will gain a lot of recognition.
Heroes: I don’t have a specific hero. Anytime someone does something positive for their community, they automatically become a hero to me.
Hobbies: I have a lot of hobbies so I don’t even know where to start. I love singing, it’s something I have loved to do since I was a small child. I love drawing even though most of the time they are doodles on the corners of my notebooks. I love writing about anything that inspires me. I also love soccer, whether I am playing it, watching it or reffing a game
Current job(s): For the past three, almost four years, I have been a soccer referee. It has been my only job.
Volunteer/community work: Since I am a soccer referee I get asked to do a lot of favors for the soccer community.
Likes: I like food, art, music, mysteries, and romance novels. I’m a cliche
Dislikes: I dislike any type of bug.
Greatest accomplishment (so far): My greatest accomplishment was being able to do an internship at The Morning Call over the summer and having my article published onto their paper.
Advice for peers: My advice to my peers is to always push themselves to their limit. There may be so many obstacles but it’s just a way to test your limits, so don’t give up and push yourself to success.
